Kamal Desktop Manager reads your config/deploy.yml through Kamal itself, so destinations, roles and hosts always match what kamal sees.

Deploys with a memory

Deploy, redeploy, roll back, lock and unlock with streamed output. Every run is kept with its git SHA, duration and full log.

Live host health

CPU, load, memory and disk per server, plus CPU and memory per container, refreshed every 5 seconds.

Containers, honestly

Running versions, stale containers from half-finished deploys, and old ones kept for rollback — per host and role.

Log streaming

Follow any container with --grep, --since and a 10k-line buffer. Pause, search and copy.

kamal-proxy inspector

Which hostname routes to which container, TLS on or off, and a live per-minute view of 2xx–5xx responses.

Rails console

An embedded terminal running kamal app exec -i — resize, copy and paste, no commands to remember at 2am.

How it works

Two paths, so Kamal Desktop Manager is both fast and faithful to Kamal.

writes Through your kamal CLI

Deploys, rollbacks and locks run the same kamal (or bin/kamal) you use in the terminal, with your Ruby from rbenv, asdf or mise. No re-implemented deploy logic to drift from upstream.

reads Straight over SSH

One multiplexed connection per host runs a single batched command per poll — no Ruby boot every five seconds, and it backs off when the window is in the background.

Your keys stay yours

Kamal Desktop Manager is a local app. There is no Kamal Desktop Manager server and nothing listens on your hosts.

No agent, no open ports. Everything rides your existing SSH setup and ~/.ssh/config.
Host keys verified against known_hosts. Unknown hosts are refused, never auto-accepted.
Secrets never persisted. Resolved config is parsed in memory; only names and hosts reach the UI.
Allowlisted commands only. Typed arguments, escaped input — no raw strings passed to a shell.
Production is loud. A red badge and a typed confirmation before deploy or rollback.
Signed updates. The updater only installs builds signed with Kamal Desktop Manager's release key.
